Commercial: Excel Critters

This was completed and aired recently. It was fun job. I did all the rigging.

Oh, and it features a brand new Excel critter, Garlic!

Commercial: Dairy Farms, Cheese characters

These two new Dairy Farms commercials aired and completed recently. I did the rigging of the characters and props.

The above are a continuation of a series of two previous commercials I also did the rigging for. Since they weren’t posted on the blog before, might as well show you now:

(The top of the CG broccoli is done with ICE instances.)

All the 3D made with Autodesk Softimage. Compositing in Autodesk Inferno.

Commercial: Telus Dominoes

This commercial is 100% CG (minus the live-action meerkats) and was made in Softimage XSI 7.

I was responsible for creating the ICE compound to position phone instances on a curve and simulate the domino effect.

At the moment ICE rigidbodies do not do “actual shape” collisions, but bounding box collisions turned out to be quite practical for this use scenario as real phones are too curved to stand upright without falling anyway.
